In honor of 2020…
You woke up. You had a bed to sleep in. You sat up. Your legs worked. You went into the bathroom. The lights turned on. You took a shower. The water was hot. You had soap and shampoo to wash with. You put on clothes and shoes. You go into your kitchen and have food. You drink clean water. You grab your car keys and go to your car. You even have a car.
You drive to your job. You even have a job. You arrive safely without crashing or dying. You make money to provide for your loved ones. You get to come and go as you please. You eat lunch. You drive home. You still have a home. You arrive safely.
You walk in. Your electricity works. Your water works. There’s more food in the refrigerator. You eat again. You drink again. Your turn on the TV. The cable bill is paid. You watch your favorite show. You take a shower. The water is hot again. You lay down in bed. You still have a bed. You get ready for a great night sleep and…
You don’t have to worry about a bomb or bullet coming through the window.
You got into a fight with your significant other or boss. Which side are you going to focus on all day/night long? The hundreds of wins you just had or the one loss?
Unfortunately, you will willingly choose to focus on that one loss…Why?
You just experienced over 100 wins during the day and only 1 or 2 losses. Why are you conditioned to chose the lesser of the options?
If this was a money situation, you would never think that way. If there was $1,000 sitting in a pile on a table and right next to it, there was $1 and you were told that you can choose either pile and take that amount. Which would you choose? You would pick the $1,000 pile every single time… AND GUESS WHAT… You would NEVER focus on the $1 you lost.
So why is it so difficult for us to think the exact same way when it comes to our emotional well being especially when it’s a way more valuable currency than money.
If you want happiness. If you want emotional stability. If you want to build progressive momentum for your work and home life. You MUST begin to count your daily wins.
You will start to see that your life isn’t as bad as you think it is. You will begin to detox the negative perspective that makes you only see the losses. You will start having different thoughts. You will start having different dreams. You will begin to build uplifting internal dialogue. You will connect with people much easier. You will stop being unhappy over 50% of the day. You will learn to stop taking things so personally. You will develop forgiveness. You will start loving more. You will start being loved more.
Remember…you do not attract what you want, you attract what you are.
So choose to be Forever Grateful!
