Madison Square Garden is the most famous arena in this country and in the world. It holds roughly 20,000 to 22,000 people at any given time.
If you were to stand on the middle of the floor in front of a sold out, MSG arena and you sang or you danced or you told jokes or did whatever it is you do…would you consider that a success? The answer is yes, you absolutely would consider that a massive success or even an apex success.
This means that you just performed in front of a sold out arena with 22,000 people watching as you did what you love to do.
When it comes to the content that we create and put online for social media, or our blog posts, or our podcasts, or our YouTube channel, or any type of digital medium, we are way too obsessed with getting millions upon millions upon millions of views. If we don’t achieve this, we think we had a massive failure. But this could not be further from the truth.
So with that being said, if your post or your video or your photo or your podcast only reaches 20,000 to 25,000 people… This means that you just did the equivalent of selling out Madison Square Garden.
Even though your post did not get millions of views like you wanted, you were able to reach the exact same amount of people, as you would performing in front of a sold out MSG arena.
You have an arena sitting in your pocket and you have the ability to reach a fully sold out Madison Square Garden arena every time you create contact. STOP being obsessed with chasing millions of views, and become obsessed with chasing impact on the people that give you their time.
