The best time of the year is Christmas. Without doubt or hesitation, there is no holiday that can compare. The greatest childhood memories that I have, took place on my parents living room floor Christmas morning. These are memories and experiences that I consciously carry with me on a daily basis for a specific purpose.
That purpose is gratitude and thankfulness. When challenges, issues and hard times come into my life, one of my main go-to memories is Christmas morning as a kid. This simple recall helps me realign during difficulty.
Right now, hundreds of millions of people are searching for an outlet or a break in the chaos. That traditional outlet for happiness and relaxation comes from the holiday time. This year is a little different…according to the media. BUT, no matter what they try to do or say, Christmas can NEVER be canceled.
Christmas is not just a day, it’s not just a holiday or gift swapping time…it’s an energy. You can never have it taken, paused or postponed. You own it and all the happiness that goes with it.
So, if you have family, please find a way to see them. If you have someone that is elderly, please find a way to see them. If you have a friend that is going through this solo, please find a way to physically be around them. This is the energy of Christmas. This is the meaning of Christmas. This is the purpose of Christmas. This is what can never be taken or paused.
Lastly, as you begin to celebrate…take a moment to walk away from everyone and everything and simply observe in silence. Look at your parents, look at your children, look at your grandchildren, look at your siblings and look at your spouse. See the amazing blessings surrounding you. Become aware of the gifts that are way more valuable than possessions. All of that, is not owed or promised to you. All of that, is the definition of success. All of that, is the true meaning of wealth. All of that, is what you own and what can never be canceled or postponed.
Christmas is yours. This day belongs to everyone. It can’t be stopped. It can’t be paused. It will always live on. Grant yourself the permission to fully enjoy it without fear or regret.
